Changing for the Better
Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11:29PM Its been a couple of months since I last updated this blog so I wanted to do a quick post letting folks know what I've been up to and what is planned for the future.
My life's been going through a lot of change recently, luckily all of them are positive. About six months ago I changed jobs. I'm now a senior consultant at SecureState where I focusing on penetration testing. Beyond helping me refine my penetration testing skills this job has also given me the time and resources need to pursue some research projects. I am presently researching a number of topics including the security of RFID prox cards used in many access control systems, how to assess and secure network attached physical security devices and some smaller topics focused around tiger team/physical penetration testing techniques. Keep an eye open for talks and blog posts related to these topics!
A few months ago I also started the Security Justice podcast with some of the Cleveland Security Bloggers, big shouts to Dave at Securi-D for doing most of the work to get this off the ground. We record live every third Wednesday of the month at Mavis Winkles. Anyone is welcome to attend. We start after the NEO Info Sec Forum meeting. In between the monthly shows we've also released a couple special edition podcasts. The show has been a lot of fun to put together. Please download a few and let me know what you think.
Finally some of the other changes in my life are not going to solidify until November. So don't be surprised if blog posts are sparse until then. Anyone interested in knowing what I am working on right now can follow me on Twitter.
Cheers,
Matt
